Downstairs

As you enter the cottage from the courtyard into the hall, there are spaces for shoes and coats with the two bedrooms and family bathroom on this level.

The spacious master bedroom is bright and airy with high ceilings, finished with a king bed and complemented by an en-suite shower room. A favourite for many guests is sitting and watching the great variety of birds which feed outside the window.

Next to this is the twin room, again with plenty of space to move and a bathroom with a full sized bath. There is a travel cot available if you need it.

With luxury towels, as seen in many 5* establishments, crisp cotton bed linen and eco friendly bath products from soaps to bath bombs, staying here is just a little slice of luxury.

Upstairs

Stairs lead from the hall up to the spacious kitchen. Well appointed with gas hob and electric oven, fridge, separate freezer and dishwasher. There is a toaster, kettle, and cafetiere. Fresh bread, local jams, marmalade, chutney and even an award winning chilli jam. You may even find a plate of scones, warm from the oven.

The airy sitting room is well presented with a welcoming sofas, comfortable armchair, satellite TV and DVD with a ready supply of books and games, not to mention the stunning views up the valley into the very heart of the Lake District.

Outside

Outside there is also plenty of space. The cottage has its own garden with views across the valley and there is also a wildflower meadow with a huge variety of flora and fauna. In the spring the swallows and swifts come to stay and, if you sit quietly, you may see our local deer coming to nibble on the bushes.

Other facilities

There is parking for 2 cars (and more if you let us know in advance). We can provide secure storage for bikes, there is a washer-dryer to cope with wet kit and free Wi-Fi in the cottage. We do have Wi-Fi, but its not a very strong signal, so don't expect to stream games etc...
